Element is the most important endgame resource in ARK: Survival Ascended. You need it for Tek structures, Tek armor, Tek Rifle ammo, cloning, and more. On Small Tribes, where resources are always tight and competition is constant, having a reliable Element source is the difference between a tribe that's competitive and one that's stuck in the stone age. Here's every method to get it.
Method 1: Element Veins (Fastest)
Element Veins on Extinction and Astraeos are by far the fastest way to farm Element. These are mineral deposits that spawn across the map — you defend them from waves of corrupted dinos, and once complete, you harvest the vein for Element. A single vein can yield around 4,000 Element and takes roughly 30 minutes to complete. Even if you don't live on Extinction or Astraeos, transferring over just to run veins is worth the trip.
The catch: you need very strong combat dinos to defend the vein. Without mutated lines, the corrupted waves will overwhelm you and destroy the vein before you can finish. This is where having proper dino lines makes the difference.
Method 2: Element Dust (Extinction)
Extinction has lamp posts scattered around the city that can be harvested with a Doedicurus for Element Dust. The Dust converts to Element at a 1000:1 ratio. It's a more passive and safer method than veins — no waves to defend against — but much slower. You can also grind Tek items in a grinder for Dust, or farm Enforcers and other Tek creatures in the city. Good for supplementing your supply between vein runs.
Method 3: Boss Fights
Boss fights drop Element on completion, with higher difficulties dropping more. However, bosses are significantly slower than veins for pure Element farming. An Alpha Dragon — the highest-yielding Island boss — gives around 500 Element per run, and that's after farming all the tribute items and actually doing the fight. Compare that to ~4,000 from a single vein.
Boss fights are still valuable for Tek engrams, experience, and trophies, but if your goal is purely Element farming, veins are the better method. Boss carry services are still the best way to unlock engrams quickly.
Method 4: Charge Nodes (Aberration)
Aberration has charge nodes in the radiation zone that produce Element over time. These are slow and dangerous to access (radiation requires Hazard Suits or specific creatures), but they provide passive Element generation for tribes that hold territory on Aberration.
What's the Fastest Method?
Element Veins on Extinction or Astraeos, no contest. ~4,000 Element in 30 minutes — nothing else comes close. The only barrier is having strong enough dinos to defend the vein. If you don't have mutated lines yet, our dino line packages will get you vein-ready fast.
At Layeh's Market, we also offer Element and resource packages delivered directly, and boss carries for unlocking Tek engrams. Join Discord to check availability.
